Under Seasoned Pork . . .

The chops were so very under seasoned. I sprinkled them with salt and pepper before searing them. I guess I should have heavily seasoned them.

The apples are very soft at the end of cooking. They are almost soft enough to mash as an applesauce.

The brown sugar mixes well on top of the pork. You get a bit of the brown sugar flavor in the apples as well as on top of the pork.

The brown sugar also mixes with the water in the bottom of the pan, so a sweetish sauce is created when cooking.

I cooked the pork on the stove top for the full 45 minutes. The pork was moist and well cooked at the end.

Other than the under seasoning, it was a nice dinner.

PORK CHOPS WITH APPLE RINGS

4 to 6 Pork Chops

Salt and Pepper to Taste

2 Tablespoons Butter

2 Tart Apples, Cut Into Rings

2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

Season pork chops with salt and pepper to taste. Sear chops on both sides in melted butter. Arrange apple rings on top of seared pork. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Add just enough water to pan to just surround chops. Cook on the stovetop over low for 45 minutes or in a 350 degree oven until pork reaches desired temperature – 20 to 30 minutes.
