I pulled this recipe because of the name. Chocolate drop sounded like it would be something a little different.
But really, this is just a chocolate chip cookie recipe.
This recipe is very similar to the one I made yesterday.
It has the brown sugar which gives the cookies a lovely dark brown color.
The butter gives the cookies a nice richness, and who doesn’t love butter. . .
I don’t think I have ever made a chocolate chip cookie recipe that isn’t a drop cookie, so I don’t know why whoever wrote this recipe felt the need to point out that it was a drop cookie.
It’s a chocolate chip cookie. There is nothing wrong with that. . .
CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES
1 Cup Sifted Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Cup Butter
1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/3 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon Hot Water
1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts
10 1/2 Ounces Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Sift flour with baking soda and salt three times. Cream butter until smooth and soft. Add both sugars gradually and beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients gradually. Add hot water, then fold in nuts and chocolate. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to racks to cool.
