Soft and Delicious Rolls

You have to plan ahead when you want to make this recipe.

The dough goes together nicely. It isn’t at all complicated. So if you are new to bread making this is a great place to start.

You don’t have to knead the bread, which makes it a fairly easy bread recipe. It also saves some time in the creation process.

The dough does rise a bit while refrigerating. The interesting thing is that I found the dough does not rise after taking it out of the fridge.

Once I formed the rolls, I covered the dough and left it on the counter for about an hour while I was doing other things.

The rolls were very nearly the same size as when they started. A small rise, but really not very noticeable. So keep this in mind when forming your rolls.

They rolls bake very nicely and are super soft on the inside with a lovely golden crust on the outside.

REFRIGERATOR ROLLS

3/4 Cup Shortening

1 Cup Boiling Water or Scalded Milk

2 Eggs, Beaten

3/4 Cup Sugar

2 Teaspoons Salt

1 Cup Cold Water

2 Cake Yeasts

1/2 Cup Lukewarm Water

7 1/2 Cups Flour

Combine shortening and boiling water. Stir until shortening is melted. Combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Beat in cold water. Soften yeast in lukewarm water. Combine the three mixtures and add the flour. Cover and chill overnight. Shape and let rise. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
