Rich Chocolate Cookie

This was another recipe I made for the community meal at my church. And I sent them to my husband’s office as well.

Like the Cranberry Drops, they were devoured very quickly.

The cookies are made like pretty much every other drop cookie.

The big different was the melted shortening. Melting it before blending it in ensures the chocolate mixes in super smoothly.

The chocolate is not overwhelming, but it does taste super fudgy. So the cookies are rich and delicious.

I did double the recipe. The ingredients as called for will only give you about two dozen cookies.

CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES

1 1/2 Cups Sifted Flour

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

2 Ounces Chocolate

1/2 Cup Melted Shortening

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Egg

1/2 Cup Milk

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Melt chocolate and add to melted shortening. Add sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. Add sifted ingredients. Let stand 10 minutes. Drop from teaspoon onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
