I had some people over for dinner that do not drink. So wine was out. I didn’t want to relegate everyone to water, so I pulled out this recipe.
Stirring the sugar into the hot tea allows the sugar to melt and blend in well. It forms a sort of simple syrup, so a little bit of sugar provides a nice amount of sweetness.
The cinnamon and nutmeg give the tea the spiced flavor. It is subtle, but perfectly blends with the fruit juices.
The juices give the tea a depth of flavor. You get tartness from the cranberry and lemon juices which is nice. The orange juice gives a little acid and a little sweetness.
I served the tea in a large container with a pouring spout. This ensured my guests could get what tea they wanted with ease.
It was a great drink, easy to make, and delicious.
