What a great recipe for a simple no bake pie - a no bake crust!
I used graham crackers. I have no idea what zwieback crackers are or even where to find them. Strangely I do have several recipes that call for zwieback crumbs. Maybe one day I can figure out where to get some.
The addition of the confectioners’ sugar was great. It added just enough sweetness to the cracker crumbs.
The cinnamon was the same. Just a touch - but it added a nice bit of spice.
The melted butter help the crumbs to hold together nicely when chilled.
You could also bake the crust a few minutes if you wanted a more toasted flavor.
GRAHAM CRACKER OR ZWEIBACK CRUST
1 1/2 Cups Graham or Zweiback Cracker Crumbs
1/2 Cup Sifted Confectioner’s Sugar
6 Tablespoons Melted Butter
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
Stir the sugar, butter and cinnamon into the crumbs until well blended. Pat into a pan or spring for to the desired thickness. Continue as the recipe used in calls for.
