Interesting Pasta

I would not call this spaghetti. I think I had some preconceptions about the dish going into it.



To start - yes, there is spaghetti in the dish. Spaghetti noodles. That’s as close as it is to spaghetti in the traditional sense.




There is no tomato sauce. The tomatoes mix well with the lima beans and onions. You do get a little bit of sauce from the juice from vegetables.



The bacon and the ground beef blend well to create a nice meaty flavor.



Overall the dish was very good. It just wasn’t what I was expecting.



SPAGHETTI CREOLE

2 Slices Bacon, Diced

¼ Pound Onions, Diced

½ Green Bell Pepper, Diced

½ Pound Ground Beef

1 Cup Stewed Tomatoes

1 Cup Lima Beans

1 ½ Cups Cooked Spaghetti

Salt and Pepper To Taste


Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and sauté onions and bell pepper in bacon drippings. Fry beef until well browned with onions. Add tomatoes, lima beans, spaghetti, onion and pepper. Blend thoroughly. When mixture begins to simmer add salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
