Every once in a while I get a little tired of the same old side dishes. I was making the Cheese Frankfurters, so I was thinking fries or onion rings. But I did both of those things not that long ago.
I came across this recipe and thought - what an interesting idea!
I used colorful peppers instead of just green. I think the red, orange and yellow tend to be a touch sweeter than the green. I thought they might be a nice difference.
I do wish the recipe had called for some seasoning! They were needing something - even if it was just salt.
I think mixing salt and pepper into the bread crumbs would be a great addition.
The rings are very similar to onion rings. Using bread crumbs instead of a batter gives the rings a nice crunch though.
Personally I found these to be a nice change. I would definitely eat them again!
