There is not a whole lot to say about this recipe. There are three ingredients listed, but really it’s just potatoes.
I sliced my potatoes and washed them about thirty minutes before I cooked them. This helped them drain a little longer.
It is so important to dry off the potatoes before plunging them in the hot oil.
Oil and water are not a great combination. You could start a fire.
Frying the potatoes twice gives them the extra crispiness a good fry should have.
These were perfect with salt. My daughter is really into Old Bay seasoning right now, so we tossed the fries with a little old bay and salt.
They were delicious!
FRECH FRIES
2 Pounds Potatoes
Oil
Salt
Pare potatoes. Cut into 3/8 inch thick slices. Cut slices into 3/8 inch thick strips. Wash in cold water. Dry completely. Fry in 370 degree oil for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain on paper toweling. Just before time to serve, fry potatoes again for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with salt immediately.
