Flavorless Meal

This was such a disappointing casserole! It had so little flavor.

It is a strange recipe to be sure. It is almost a meat loaf, but not quite.

You would think that combining the hamburger and sausage would provide more flavor.

I did cook the onions and potatoes before assembling the casserole. I thought this would ensure that they were cooked well in the final product.

Somehow, the potatoes were hard. It was almost like they hadn’t been cooked at all. It was really disappointing.

The cheese on top was a hard, crunchy mass. I think it would have been better to have added the cheese during the last twenty minutes or so.

Ultimately, we did not eat this casserole. We opted for leftovers. It was that boring.

HAMBURGER SAUSAGE CASSEROLE

1 1/2 Pounds Hamburger

1/4 Pound Pork Sausage

1/4 Teaspoon Poultry

1 Teaspoon Salt

1/4 Teaspoon Pepper

6 Small Cooked Onions

6 Small Cooked Potatoes

1/2 Cup Buttered Bread Crumbs

1/4 Cup Grated American Cheese

Mix hamburger, sausage, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Place half the mixture in the bottom of a casserole. Add onions and potatoes. Top with remaining meat mixture. Sprinkle with buttered crumbs and cheese. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1 hour.
