Dressed Up Pigs In A Blanket

These are fun, and flavorful pigs in a blanket.

The biscuit dough is very flavorful. It is also not too thick. There is nothing worse than having more dough than hot dog!

Making the dogs with the ketchup and mustard inside already does give them a lot of flavor. The grilled onions are lovely.

You could definitely add many other things inside to change these up a bit. I am thinking pickles, maybe thinly sliced cheese . . .

Make sure that you cut the dough large enough to wrap around the hot dogs. A few of mine I cut a little too narrow. It made it very messy trying to wrap the dough around.

The recipe had a little note that these were the perfect kids treat. I’m an adult, and I quite enjoyed them!

FRANKFURTER SURPRISE

1 Recipe Basic Biscuit Dough

8 Frankfurters

2 Tablespoons Mustard

1 Onion, sliced

2 Tablespoons Ketchup

Roll biscuit dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut into oblong pieces, the length of the frankfurter and 3 to 4 inches wide. Fry onions until soft. Spread each piece of dough with mustard. Add fried onion and a small amount of ketchup. Place a frankfurter on each piece and roll dough around it. Pinch dough together and arrange on a buttered baking sheet. Brush each piece with melted butter. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
