Decent Weeknight Dinner

This dish was decent, but not blow your socks off good. I think my family liked it more than I did.

It reminds me a bit of a Shepherd’s Pie with the potatoes on top. Of course the meat ingredients are very different so it does not have that flavor.

The dish needed a touch more salt, but otherwise the flavor is good.

It’s just that nothing really stood out.

The best part is that the dish didn’t take a very long time to make. So it would be perfect for a dinner in a hurry.

HAMBURGER CREOLE CASSEROLE

3 Tablespoons Butter

1 Pound Hamberger

1/2 Cup Minced Onion

1/4 Cup Chopped Bell Pepper

1 Cup Canned Tomatoes With Juice

1/2 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 Teaspoon Salt

1/4 Teaspoon Pepper

Prepared Mashed Potatoes

Brown hamburger, onions and bell pepper in butter until the meat is done. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Place in a casserole dish. Spoon small mounds of mashed potatoes on top of meat mixture. Brown under broiler, serve immediately.
