This is meant to be a side dish. It will definitely be very filling!

I served it as an entree, my daughter’s request. Because of this I added some cut up hot dog, just to give it a little protein.

The cheese sauce is very rich and creamy. The sauce itself is very simple, milk and cheese. I used a sharp cheddar.

The dish baked up beautifully. The noodles were soft, the sauce was cheesy and the buttered crumbs gave just a bit of crunch.

MACARONI AND CHEESE
1 Cup Elbow Macaroni
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Pound Grated Cheddar
Dash Salt
Dash Pepper
1/2 Cup Buttered Bread Crumbs
Boil macaroni in salted water until tender. Drain and rinse with hot water. Place in a casserole dish. Heat milk in a saucepan. Add cheese and heat until cheese is melted. Add seasonings to taste. Pour cheese mixture over cooked macaroni. Mix with a fork. Cover with buttered crumbs Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
