Chocolate Chip Oatmeal

Sometimes you want a little more than just a chocolate chip cookie. Sometimes you don’t want raisins in your oatmeal cookies.

So why not combine the two and get the best of both.

These cookies are thin, so they are a little on the crunchy side.

They are a lovely combination of the sweet chocolate and the savory oatmeal.

The best part of the cookies was the batter. It was really delicious.

I know, you aren’t supposed to eat raw batter, but. . .

The unfortunate part is that the recipe doesn’t make a lot. Maybe that is a good thing as they were quite delicious.

SEMI SWEET OATMEAL COOKIES

3/4 Cup Sifted Flour

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1/2 Cup Butter

6 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar

6 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/4 Teaspoon Water

1 Egg

1 Cup Rolled Oats

6 Ounces Semi Sweet Chocolate Pieces

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend butter with sugars, vanilla and water. Add flour mixture, blending well. Stir in oats and chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded half teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
