Better Than I Thought It Would Be

This recipe makes a decent casserole of sorts. Although it is not a traditional casserole as you do not bake it.



It takes very little time to put together. Really you just have the simmering time.




I used extra broad egg noodles for the pasta. Depending on what pasta you use I think it would have endless possibilities.




I do think the dish needed just a touch more salt.



Other than that, it was a lovely, speedy dinner.



HAMBURGER NOODLE CASSEROLE

2 Tablespoons Butter

3/4 Pound Ground Beef

1 Medium Onion, Sliced

1 Cup Water

1 Cup Canned Tomatoes

1 Teaspoon Salt

2 1/2 Cups Cooked Peas

8 Ounces Noodles, Cooked


Melt butter in a skillet, add meat and stir until lightly browned. Add onion, water, tomatoes and salt. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add peas and noodles. Cook uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring frequently until the liquid cooks down to a gravy. Adjust seasonings before serving.
