Basic For Sure

The thing about basic recipes is that they usually stick around because they taste great.

This one is no different. It does taste great.

I did season it well with salt and pepper. I also added a bay leaf and some coriander.

The cabbage is flavorful and just soft enough.
The potatoes cook through wonderfully. My daughter added just a touch of salt once they were on the plate, but I think this is a preference thing.

The ham was also cooked perfectly, great flavor and good texture.

So yes, it is basic. But it tastes great and is worth making!
CABBAGE, POTATOES AND HAM
1 Ham Steak
1 Large Cabbage, Quartered
4 Potatoes, Halved
Salt and Pepper To Taste
Cook cabbage in boiling water with potatoes. Add ham and adjust seasonings. Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are done. Drain.
This sounds wonderful! I’m going to try it in my new steamer!
