Basic Banana Bread

I was a bit underwhelmed with this bread. There really wasn’t anything special about it.

The flavor was a basic white bread, with a little banana.

Of course, as I am writing this blog entry I think I realize my problem.

I forgot the rolled oats. Completely didn’t add them at all.

So I wonder if the bread would have been better with the oats in it.

I think I can honestly say that I think the oats would have added some texture for sure. But ultimately, the flavor would have probably been the same. A bit bland.

Banana Bread 1

3 Ripe Bananas

1 Cup Uncooked Rolled Oats

1/2 Cup Milk

1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Butter

2 Eggs

2 Cups Flour

1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mash bananas in a medium bowl with a pastry blender. Stir in oats and milk. Set aside. Cream the sugar, butter and eggs until smooth. Beat the banana mixture and the remaining ingredients into the creamed mixture. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
