Banana and Chocolate Yumminess!

There are a ton of walnuts in this bread! They give it a lovely crunch factor.

Mashing the bananas first provides a lovely banana flavor throughout the bread.

You really don’t get a ton of whole wheat flavor. I think this is because the flour is mixed and not all whole wheat.

The cardamom is a nice touch too. It provides a different flavor than the usual cinnamon nutmeg that is added to regular banana breads.

And of course the chocolate is great. It melts just enough to give the chocolatey gooeyness to the whole loaf of bread.

WALNUT BANANA BREAD

2 Ripe Bananas

½ Cup Butter, Softened

¼ Cup Packed Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

¼ Cup Sour Cream

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

1 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom

¼ Teaspoon Salt

1 ½ Cup Chopped Walnuts

½ Cup Chocolate Chips

Slice bananas into blender; whirl until smooth. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs until blended. Combine sour cream and baking soda, stirring until soda dissolves. Beat into creamed mixture until blended. Combine flours, cardamom and salt. Beat one third dry mixture into creamed mixture until blended. Beat in one half bananas until blended. Repeat with remaining flour and bananas. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour into well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn onto wire rack to complete cooling.
